Something AU

This story is for the Hobbit_Ficathon Challenge to write something wildly AU.  I don't know how wild it is, but it is AU.  The characters are Sam, Merry, Pippin and Frodo and this takes place in the same universe as "The Pepsi Saga" did.  Don't panic though, it is only a short story and nothing more.  I do mention one of the LJ characters from "The Pepsi Saga" (Dreamflower) but she isn't exactly in this story.  Enough said save the disclaimer.  Not my Hobbits, no money, sorry for stealing and so forth...

Alternate Universe is what I've been told. It's a story that can't happen in canon because of something strange like a flashlight or the presence of people and things that would not have been in Tolkien's world.

Not a problem. It took me forever to straighten out all of this when I first started posting. I like this sort of post because there is no way to mess up. It is suppose to be something that can't happen to hobbits or in Middle Earth. I love that!

Hee! I have to admit, I was still trying to guess what it was right up until the end. Thought it might be a kaleidoscope, but now a torch makes much more sense! And they're far more useful than kaleidoscopes, as Frodo has demonstrated.

Thank you! I really should have used torch instead of flashlight in the actual story. My American-isms are showing! But it does make it even more AU. LOL
